W. Justin Fournell-Baker
I believe the next leap in AI will not be computational, but perceptive. This conviction is forged from two worlds: the rigorous discipline of my U.S. Navy service, where I learned the profound cost of system failure, and a lifelong ability to perceive and understand others beyond words. I’ve seen firsthand that genuine connection is the missing variable in our technology. Today’s AI can calculate endlessly, but it cannot comprehend. It mimics empathy, yet fails to engage with the forces that truly animate us. This conviction drives my work as founder of EM-NOUS Technologies, where we are engineering the substrate for a new class of intelligence: a physics-based foundation with a causal affect engine. Our mission is to move beyond simulated responses and create systems that are provably safe, ethically grounded, and capable of true comprehension. My ultimate goal is to help build a more conscious and connected future—one where AI is not a cold machine, but a genuine partner in discovery, governance, and care. I am always open to connecting with innovators, researchers, and visionaries who share the belief that technology’s highest purpose is not to replace us, but to deepen our shared human experience.
